Viva Goa

Ever since my trip to Goa, whenever I hear of the place, the first emotion that comes out is a smile followed by a second of sadness. It is a special place for me for more then one reasons. It was an Odyssey .

It is one of the most beautiful places that I have been to in the recent past. The landscapes, beaches, people, soccer are amazing. It was magical....

It was probably the last time that we friends would go out on a trip so long and so far. Although I still hope there will be may more. But considering that most of us are planning for Masters abroad, it is highly unlikely.

It is two months since we made that trip. I just received a CD of photos and pictures. I sat down to make a video of it. As I started arranging the pictures, I stopped the work and went on with viewing them again {5th time in last 3 days}. It was nostalgic. Kartiks impromptu jig with me and then Sunny, soaking at Calungute beach, dance at Cruise, snap session at Miramar beach, playing cards at night. They all bring a smile to my face. Dream stuff!!!

As I continue with my video, my Dad wonders what is such that makes me smile and giggle all alone. I know he wouldnt understand even if I try to explain. Unable to find a song for background score, i gave up the idea of making the movie. Last night, trying to sleep and listening to iPod, I came across one of my favourite songs which i happened to listen after almost a year or so. So apt was the song
"Thats what Friends are for" by Stevie Wonders.

Am waiting for an oppurtunity when all 14 would come together again. So that we can watch the tape. Smile, laugh, get emotional all together. Thats what friends are for..........

Memories

Hidden in the attic,
carefully in the shack,
is something very special,
that I would like to share.

My hopes,
my dreams,
old photographs,
of good times and bad times that make me laugh.

The joy of a hug,
the thrill of a kiss,
leaves me to remember the pure, simple bliss.

I cry for the fun,
and giggle for the pain,
I enjoyed the good life I was able to maintain.

The thoughts and wishes,
they all stay with me,
all of these contained in my bag of memories.
